new chamber owner help

I have a 90model C chambers stoves. the exact same one as Rachel Ray. The only thing we are missing is that tag that tells us what the BTU is. Can any body help me. Our whole kitchen is built around it and I want to make sure we have what it takes to make it work.

What do you mean what the BTU's are?

Do you mean:

1. How much BTU's each burner gives off. You'll find that in the [b][i]C-series Service Manual, Revised Edition.[/b][/i]

2. How much heat does the CHAMBERS generate, then the answer is simple: 1/3-1/2 what an ordinary range will generate. The superior insuation of a CHAMBERS keeps your kitchen COOLER than if you had a mere off-the-floor model from one of the appliance stores.

3. How much gas does it take to operate, then the answer is this: You need to reverse engineer your flex line from the "manifold" (big gas pipe) inside the CHAMBERS back to the supply line coming out of the floor or wall.

A. Get an A.G.A. approved flex line for gas appliances that has the biggest inside diameter you can get up to the same size as the I.D. of the manifold pipe. This helps you get enough gas flow to the stove without bottlenecking after it leaves the supply valve.

B. Install a new gas valve on the supply line comign from the gas company and through the wall or floor that accepts the big flex line AND connects to the supply line. You man need an adaptor or two, but try not to use them, if possible, as it reduces the number of possible places for leaks.

C. Make sure your supply line is at least 1/2" (I prefer 3/4") coming up out of the loor and terminating at the valve.

Install everything properly, or have a plumber do it.

Do you have the [b][i]C-series Service Manual, Revised Edition[/i][/b] so you'll know how to calibrate the burners, flame height, etc.?

What about the "Idle Hour" Cookbook, 3rd Edition - it doubles as an Operation Manual, showing you how to clean, operate and use your CHAMBERS, as well as how to cook with the gas turned OFF on retained heat in the super-insulated Oven and Thermowell?
